short lived sewing

I had a massive burst of energy a few weeks back.... now it's kinda died.... not sure why as I'm still in my second trimester!

I made a pair of Kid Shorts for a nephew's birthday in August.

Sewing clothes for a 3 year old is perfect as not much fabric is required. The corduroy was from my stash.

I thought the finished shorts looked too 'neat & prissy' for my nephew so added the fish bone motif on the leg by using zig-zag stitch over and over and hand stitching the red 'X' for the eye. Love how it turned out.

My daughter gets to test out the boy shorts.
I love all the things Dana from MADE sews and found the tutorial to be so easy to follow, especially as there are step by step photos.

I attempted to make knot shorts for my daughter but the pregnancy brain got the better of me - for now! Making your own pattern to begin with and minimal photos in the instructions didn't help my situation either. They were turning out so cute too.

At least there are a couple more months before the summer hits to tackle them again!

Anyone have simple summer clothing tutorials they've tried, tested and love?

Oh here I go again: craft envy. Anyone who can sew anything on a sewing machine has my attention!

Love the little fishy!

Oh yes, my poor son has to test drive ruffle bloomers & all sorts of girlie things, as my baby (aged nearly 8 but you know, he's my last one & still fits into a size 3, bless his tiny bottom). Totally cute little detailing there, gorgeous, love Posie

The boy shorts with the fish bone are super cute. I really should try and sew shorts for my son one of these days.
Hope the knot shorts will work out the next time.
