crazy nesting

Hello, I'm still in one piece btw. Will hopefully post a photo to show you my basketball of a belly soon!

I wanted to share the throw quilt I just made for my brother in law and his wife... it was a wedding present. They got married two years ago. I'm ashamed to say it has taken me this long to make it for them. And also required the imminent birth of my third born to motivate me. Did I mention that when they got married I was 7 months pregnant with my second child? Yep, disgraceful.

I LOVE how it turned out. The teal side is my absolute favourite and I didn't want to part with it.
The fabrics are a mix of new quilting and op shop fabric finds.
I didn't use a pattern. I just went to my stash and played around with some choices until I was happy with the colour combinations. Then cut them to the width I wanted and played with the pieces again till I was happy with how it looked. On the back is some hand embroidery with their names and wedding date.

All up it took me almost four nights to complete. I was attempting to see if I could make the quilt before baby arrives... and I sure did..... and now I'm still waiting....

I scrolled down real quick when I saw there was new post - I didn't know if there was a baby yet!! Thinking of you - wishing you the best birth possible. xoxo

Thanks ladies! It was hard to part with it but my SIL was so excited when she saw it so I know it'll be well loved. :)

Look at all that sweetness! Jacinta, this is an adorable quilt! I love the colours and well, if it took you a third baby to get you motivated, then you should be thrilled with your acheivement. I'm sure your BIL will love it to bits! Hope you getting lots of relaxing time before bub arrives xx
